On Time In Fullperformance

After the first impressions of pros and cons of Internet telephony, I wanted to deepen trying to make me a VoIP telephone system entirely.
The test machine has a 2.4 Ghz processor, 512MB of memory and a 160GB HD .... should be sufficient.

Now, as I had to choose from, in fact there are two possibilities: or install a distro that I consider suitable to the task and then install asterisk

and configure it manually, or install directly to a system ready.
The first solution would be best suited to the genre plays around with a lever, the second, faster and convenient but you have to adapt a little to what is made available.

Eventually I opt for the speed and choose to install Trixbox

, distro dedicated as a system with CentOS (RHEL so that it is still a very respectable)
,

FreePBX and Asterisk

VoIP as a driver and management interface.
Omitting the installation, which is simple, finish the configuration system that honestly, I was not impressed: the whole is quite messy in terms of both computer and from that phone, plus the interface in many ways, does not help much even, in some cases creates further doubt on the configuration, Result: a lot of trouble especially when compared to the configuration of a traditional PBX (analog or digital).
The interface is exactly as the name of the software (easy), very intuitive and, above all, very close to the world of telephony.
I try to activate the transponder, imposed work schedules, load the sound file and even here, no problem, no voice or jumping interference due to bugs.

I still have to do other tests, such as voice-mail, setting up hunt groups, fax etc.. but in essence, for those wishing to try a VoIP PBX, easyasterisk is, in my opinion, the best solution.

Last note,
easyasterisk has two versions, one completely free and a paid professional, I have tested the free and I would say that it is more than enough even for those who have an office or small business.
